Logistics & Supply Chain

NorteWave Logistics: 240 pages of supply chain documentation into three European languages.

Language pairPT > DE / FR / NL

NorteWave Logistics was expanding from Portugal into Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Their contract documentation, carrier agreements, compliance reports, and internal standard operating procedures all required translation. Technical logistics terminology needed to be consistent across all three target languages. We built a project glossary in week one, assigned three specialist translators (one per language), and delivered in parallel within eight weeks. All three language versions now exist as living documents, updated quarterly under our ongoing retainer.

Healthcare & Medical

Clinica Renascenca: consent forms and patient records translated for an international patient base.

Language pairPT > EN / ES / PT-BR

Clinica Renascenca in Braga serves a growing number of patients from the UK, Spain, and Brazil. Their informed consent forms, post-operative care instructions, and clinical reports needed certified translations. Medical translation requires absolute precision: a mistranslation in a consent document or post-operative instruction is not a quality issue, it is a patient safety issue. We handled this under a service agreement, with each document certified and verified by two linguists before delivery.

Publishing & Literature

Amarante Publishers: an anthology of 28 contemporary Portuguese poets into English.

Language pairPT > EN

Literary translation is not about word-for-word conversion. An anthology of contemporary Portuguese poetry required translators who were themselves writers: people who understand metre, tone, and what a poem is trying to do before they attempt to render it in another language. We coordinated a team of four literary translators, each assigned to poets whose voice matched their own translating style. The process included a shared editorial meeting at month three to ensure the anthology read as a coherent whole. Published the following year.
